Banned book week is an annual event that is sponsored by the American Library Association and Amnesty International. The event helps bring awareness to the danger of censorship and our freedom to read.
At Oxford, Mrs. Gilman made an interactive display of the top 10 banned books of 2020. Under each cover students could explore why these books were banned.
Discusses banned books allows our students to think critically and how important it is to maintain our freedom to read.
